I have a long flight from Thailand to Canada and I need to fill my iPod!

Let's see... I really love Talkin Toons with Rob Paulsen cause I love voice actors. I also love film acting and fashion and science and social studies / history. I'm also learning Japanese and Spanish, so I'm wondering if there's any good language podcasts that you guys would recommend?

What are some of your favourite podcasts that you'd recommend, F!S?

Idk if it would be completely up you alley, but if you like science and history you might be into Sawbones: A Marital Tour of Misguided Medicine. Its a medical history podcast and its really interesting, but it does get pretty gross at times.

There's a Podcast called Revolutions and this dude is working on one from the Spanish American Wars of Independence.

I also listen to the NIckelodeon one (they talked to Weird Al like three weeks ago!), Pod Save America and NPR's 1A (both politics), Black Men Can't Jump in Hollywood (reviewing movies that have black leads (and sometimes they bring in other POC guests to offer their view on movies that are a different race), and of course, We Hate Movies.

Also another group I love listening to but I don't think they have an actual podcast presence - you'd have to go to soundcloud or youtube - is Double Toasted.

I love Joanna Robinson's podcasts, including Gen Pop (A Pop Culture podcast), Little Gold Men, and Storm Of Spoilers. They're all TV/movie-related, and very easy listening.

For science, The Infinite Monkey Cage is awesome.

Book Shambles with Robin and Josie is a lot of fun and also very thinky.

Greg Proops's The Smartest Man In The World has the best vodka-fueled political rants I've ever heard.

If you like hearing about ridiculous/wtf things that happened in history, then you might like The Dollop.

Films: Film Sack (sort of like MST3K in podfic form), Filmspotting (for more critical discussions), and The /Filmcast (for more casual movie reviews).

The only sort of fashion podcast I know is Page Seven which is about celebrity gossip.

Science/Social Studies/History: 99% Invisible, Stuff You Should Know, You Are Not So Smart, Techstuff, Lore.
bur: It's an octopus with a bat from Pirate Baby's Cabana Street Fight 2006. (Default)

For history, The British History Podcast. We're up to Alfred the Great and it's only taken six years and 230 episodes! This shit be THOROUGH.

Find the Nerdist episode with Rob Paulsen, I think it's episode 187. It's not more than 2 hours, but well worth it if you like Rob Paulsen. Definitely check out some of the other Nerdiest episodes for actors/singer you like. (I remember Lauren Graham, Bob Saget, and the singer from Chvrches being really good)

I think All Work No Play with Liam O'Brien and Sam Riegel is quite awesome. It doesn't have that many episodes, though, but what is there is fun. While they do talk some about voice acting, it's not the main focus of the podcast if that's what you're interested in.
