I think the point OP was getting at is that it's possible to have a life and still keep your fandom commitments, because the vast majority of people do both.

And that making commitments to other people you have no intention or ability to keep is rude, even if it's "just fandom".

To me it reads like anon thinks everything is automatically a commitment, so if you're not committing as much as them you're a ~traitor~ or some over dramatic crap.

More like "any commitment you make, big or small" not everything automatically is one.
