(Anonymous) 2017-02-18 12:45 am (UTC)(link)I don't know where I said I was shocked. They advance a particular view of these two movies, and I disagree with that view, for the reasons cited. I don't think there's anything especially shocking or bizarre about doing that. I don't think that advancing an opinion requires that you think everyone in the world should be required to agree with you. I think they're wrong about the movies but of course it's their right to look at the movies and take whatever they want from them. I don't see what I said that conflicts with that and I don't know what you want from the basic concept of talking about what you think about movies if what I said is somehow out of the order of things.
I think that they're not good movies. I don't think that the scripts are good, or the cinematography was good, or that the acting was mostly good. An exhaustive level of argument has been poured into going over the specifics of each of those claims on an almost second by second basis and if you think those things are good fair enough but that's how I feel about the movies. I don't agree with the people who think they're good. I think they're bad. I see what they're talking about when they say they're good, but I don't think it's accurate.

(Anonymous) 2017-02-18 01:09 am (UTC)(link)Whether or not a movie is enjoyable is entirely subjective. Whether or not it's well-made really isn't.
Re: What movie was an interesting idea...
they handle it MUCH better in the books and the clone wars show where it can be broken up. I've seen the PT twice and I STILL don't know what politic bullshit they're on about. Here it's just WAY too heavy handed
