This is really common, having sexual fantasies about scenarios that you wouldn't want to experience IRL because they would be abusive/traumatizing/painful/whatever. Here's the summary of a legit-looking study that estimates about half of all women have had ravishment fantasies of some kind or another.

Sometimes it's a way of processing other feelings. Sometimes it's just because a sense of "danger" gets the adrenaline flowing and the heart pounding. Basically the same reason people enjoy watching horror movies.

I think that's the reason for me. The danger thing really gets me going.

Just so long as they don't continue to get trotted out by assholes who want to treat women as their property and right and claim that "it's what women want! Studies!! Only feminazis and ugly women want bodily autonomy!!!"

Because they sure do now.

And we get crap like 50 Shades presented as "everywoman porn"

That stuff is like an instant cold shower to me personally and I'd like that acknowledged more than occasionally and not made to feel like a prude.

Unfortunately, there's no way to stop assholes from being assholes. Trotting out "studies!!" is just a fig leaf for them to feel more righteous about the views they were going to hold anyway. It doesn't mean they actually care about logic.

Your preferences (and mine, with this particular kink) are the mainstream-acceptable ones. We get acknowledged plenty. Telling someone their kinks are common and non-shameful is not a roundabout way of attacking everyone who likes something different.

If the assholes can't tell the difference between a fantasy and wanting something in reality then there's nothing you or I will say on FS will change that.
