My biggest disappointment was that Jupiter HAD NO AGENCY AT ALLLLLL
Seriously, what the lame kind of wish-fulfillment power fantasy was that? >:(

That bothered me. But my biggest frustration with the movie was that the only thing the heroes cared about was saving Earth. No one, not even the authorities who should have cared, even made mention of the other planets that would suffer the fate Earth almost did. They all just shrugged and went about their business.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I think that I didn't get to the point of taking it seriously long enough to even get frustrated at that aspect of it, because I was too busy trying to enjoy it as a big dumb power fantasy, and it kept on not being one.
I even talked to a friend of mine who actually really enjoyed the film in that way, and she tried to explain to me why it does work as a power fantasy, and I just... idk. It doesn't work for me.
But yeah, that was definitely a big flaw, and it's something that bugs me a lot in modern movies, that seem to not give a shit about collateral damage.
