I think the problem is that the root of it is tied to an issue I can't really fix. Bipolar mood swings. Medicine is incredibly expensive and tends to go overboard in addressing the issue.

I could probably try exercising more and finding something healthier to bump me out of that "feeling dead" zone.

Not that I doubt your own ability to understand your mental health needs, but the range of services and pharmaceuticals available these days is much, much different to what it was even ten years ago.

I understand if the expense is too great, but if you ever do get access to resources I'd recommend giving it a second chance. Even having a supply of an emergency med to act as a back-up can go a long way to helping you maintain a sense of control in the long term.
