you don't have to sing if you don't want to (unless your friends peer pressure you) (but it is fun to sing)

The key things to keep in mind (assuming that you're not actually a super-talented legitimate singer; if you're actually genuinely a singer, then do whatever the fuck you want) are don't choose long songs and don't choose songs that require technical virtuosity. In general, assume that songs are going to be longer than you remember them being, and assume that you know less of the words than you think. Don't choose songs where the only bit you remember or like from the song is the chorus. Do choose pop songs and older hits that everyone knows as those are usually going to be the simplest to sing along to.

Also none of this is necessary, and no one is going to, like, be angry if you violate it

This is just what I've found to make sure that you mostly know what's going on and have something you can enjoy belting
