Thank you for alerting me to the existence of that letter. It was glorious. My favorite part actually had nothing to do with the gender reveal party but more her general advice that people aren't going to be interested in every tiny detail of the kid's life. I wish they would teach new parents (especially mothers) this at the hospital, same time they're teaching them how to change diapers and stuff. Because I get they're the center of your universe (they should be), but I don't want to hear about your toddler's lunch.

Not that I really need to hear about either, but I'll take lunch stories over poop stories. New parents are weird.

I'll take poop stories over humblebrag stories. 'Now what do we do? He just raced through those math exercises! I figured they'd last him until the new ones got here (since they're for older kids and all, you know).'
