There's one whose work I absolutely love but who I always feel like I need to settle in for whenever I read her stories, 'cause they're so angsty and she puts the characters through quite the wringer much of the time. It's not a bad thing the way she does it or anything like that. It's just the sort of writing where I often feel I need to set aside proper time to read it all and fully absorb what happens in the story, you know?

(She does sometimes write a few funny, lighthearted pieces to balance things out, too, which helps.)
