American politics are way crazier and more partisan than they were 10 years ago. I think a lot of the right wing will become much more entrenched the more hated Trump becomes, because they'll read it as Pissing Off The Liberals, which is their primary political motivation and goal and ideology. And that didn't exist nearly as much 10 years ago.
