This. Also, some people really, really want to be parents and are really excited when it finally happens, so they want to celebrate it. One of my friends had a baby a few months ago, and while she didn't do a gender reveal party or anything, she was so thrilled to be a mom-to-be because she and her husband had been wanting kids for a while. It was pretty much the best thing that could've happened to them and so I didn't begrudge them their celebration one bit.
