I thought m/m was pretty common in shoujo since there's a lot of crossover with shounen-ai audiences? Anyway, knowing manga, it's just as likely he has a crush on his sister.

Don't know the series, but I think if the character was JUST shown as being annoyed by PDA then I would agree with you, but if he's thinking about how the husband (not the sister) would react to his death, it seems unlikely to me?

Mmmh you probably wouldn't be wrong. A lot of shoujo mangaka put a lot of subtext (and text) on their manga. Surprisingly very few take the next step and make it canon, though. But you wouldn't be far off if you think the subtext is intentional.
