This is the opposite of what I usually hear. I like Kylux but I haven't tried to read any fic in months b/c it's hard to find good characterization. Most people I talk to who also gave up on fic want dark and hate!sex and such, and bemoan how many fluffy modern AUs, etc. there are. I'd like something in the middle, personally. Happy ending but some serious work to get there.

If you're not a complete moron you can guess at quite a few of his character traits from a trope-y POV because Star Wars characters, especially side characters are nothing if not trope-y.

And yet, people manage to mess even that up.

Yeah, I kinda gave up on fic in that fandom a while ago because of that. I can't imagine it's changed that much.
