You know who's got something against sex workers? Clean Bandit, who wrote a song about a miserable single mother trapped in stripping because otherwise her son would freeze to death. Not very empowering!

yeah but...that's reality for hella strippers though

like, stripping is not just glamorous college students doing it for the rad $$$ and to be ~empowered~

a huge amount of strippers legit are stuck in shady clubs where they are treated as disposable and are encouraged to backstab each other and it's really common for them to develop drug/alcohol abuse problems because their job actually sucks but it's all they can get right now

but then I just got my information from actual strippers and former strippers, obviously songs on the radio know better
