It's terribly metaphoric and intellectual

Although that said I don't think the Coen Brothers have ever made a bad movie. Fight me

(Anonymous) 2017-02-25 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Or is it that they've never made a good movie?

(Anonymous) 2017-02-25 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I am going to fight you

I had to go look up their filmography cause I honestly had no clue what movies they made. Of the whole list, I've watched five and enjoyed one. Okay, I enjoyed the music from Inside Llewyn Davis, but overall found it annoying and depressing. Acting was good, though.

I had no idea Egon Spengler did other movies.

That's not Harold Ramis, it's John Turturro.

But besides Ghostbusters, Harold Ramis was also in Baby Boom, Groundhog Day, Airheads, Knocked Up and a few others, not huge parts, but yeah. He was mostly a screenwriter (Animal House, Meatballs, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Analyze This, etc.), one I enjoyed and I wish he was still around.

Did it hurt when you had your sense of humor removed?

I think you meant:

Thank you for the information, though it wasn't necessary. I was trying to make a joke, but the tone I intended doesn't seem to have come across in my comment.

Someone didn't see Ghostbusters 2. It's okay, you're not missing much.

(Anonymous) 2017-02-25 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
That's John Turturro. Not Harold Rami.

Allow me to rephrase my comment.

"Wow! This picture really makes this character look like another iconic character in a totally unrelated movie! I bet that wasn't intentional! How funny!"

It's the only Coens film I was too bored to finish watching, so we may be in agreement.

Same. Barton Fink has to be my least favorite of their films, and I typically love their stuff...except, and I'm sure this is going to get me in trouble - but Raising Arizona is also on my list of least favorites. It's just meh to me.

EDIT: This is the first time I have really thought about it...but Raising Arizona always made me uncomfortable because it seems like it's having a sneering laugh at the expense of the "trailer trash" played by Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter. I grew up poor in the south. I knew people like those characters. I found that aspect of the film to be really unfunny.
