Um. CLAMP does that with all their pairings, no matter the genders of the people involved. Like, it's kind of a running joke in the fandom that no one ever kisses in CLAMP manga. The only times I've seen CLAMP use the actual term 'love' was in the CCS anime, Yukito about Touya (not sure about the manga), Subaru to Seishirou in TB, and Syaoran and Sakura in Tsubasa.

CLAMP does genuinely have some weird ideas with love, especially the whole your special person is your soulmate across the universe which works for some couples but yeesh Subaru's getting the short end of the stick- but that applies to all of their couples. Not just the queer ones.

This is why I threw Subaru at Kamui. Though if we go by the anime ending, he STILL gets the short end of the stick.
