Exactly. Seriously, I'm wondering what series OP read cause what they are complaining about just isn't CLAMP.

And also with clamp.. Another positive is that they not only allude to more then platonic male relationships but also nod at women in those same type of relationships which is a mark in their favor.

It means that CLAMP also recignize and allude to the other side of the spectrum.

Yeah, in Cardcaptor Sakura, they make it pretty explicit that Tomoyo has a crush on Sakura, but it's never treated as a joke or anything. The only reason it never goes anywhere is that Sakura is meant to be with Shaoran.
