Secret you're most proud of making?

...and secret you're embarrassed you made?

The Bruce Bogtrotter secret I made a while ago was pretty good imo.

I made one with little stick figures fighting that I was pretty proud. I can't remember what it was about though. :/

I've spent a few minutes reviewing the secrets I've made. I need to find when they were posted in the archive!

There's one where I put a Doctor Who quote on how I feel while trying to take care of my mother (quote: 'doesn't she look tired to you'). I think that's what I am most proud of since it did generate discussion on how the episode played out.

No wait, it's the one where I compared MST3K to Torchwood...

I've made some rather spicy secrets about Penn & Teller that I definitely wouldn't admit to in public or off anon.

I'm the most proud of my old, old secret about shipping Angela Anaconda/Nanette Manoir, since it made Encyclopedia Dramatia's F!S Hall of Shame.

Aaaannnnd I guess the most embarrassing was one about Big Hero 6 racewank, because I worded it so badly that most of the comments were "I don't understand what you're saying" and not the secret itself. I'm pretty proud of the design of that secret, though.

I'm one of the people who made Riker secrets and all of them are my pride and joy. *high fives other Riker anons*

I liked one I made about Xenosaga's Shion Uzuki. Not so much the secret itself, but the way it looked.

I can't really say I'm embarrassed by any secret I made, maybe more like unimpressed by it after the fact.

Ashamed:

I made a Harry Potter one that looked readable when I saved it in .gimp (a pseudo-photo shop, basically) but when it was posted, no one could read it and people wondered why I was annoying enough to make it unreadable. This is why I don't judge other secret posters, though - I usually consider that it may have been the same for them.

Of course, the other issue is that the secret was worded oddly, so the people who could read it missed the whole point. Sigh.

Also, back when FS first started, I made a secret about the Charlie Brown musical being stupid because adults were playing kids. I didn't realize complaining that something isn't realistic in theater is a theater taboo. (I still can't pass a 40 year old man pretending to be an eight year old boy with a kite through my suspension of disbelief, though.)

Way back in the day, there was a popular creepypasta based on the statue from Majora's Mask. I found a picture of the writer next to a picture of the statue, copied it, slapped "I SHIP IT" on top in WordArt, and posted it. Then the fandom found it and it became a Thing. I was quite proud of that, in the "many shits and giggles were had" way.

I once spent way too much time and effort making a secret that looked like a Minesweeper game.

I'm proud that I did a secret very early on calling that Voltron would turn into a tire fire of a fandom. Everyone disagreed and thought I was being pessimistic at the time.

Waaaaaay back in the day I made a secret that used the word "retarded". I no longer use that word in that way, and it's pretty cringey now.

Did you get flack for it?

And TBH while working with special ed kids, I never liked the word, I feel as thought it's more recently that people really object to it, to the point at which it's even considered offensive in a clinical context. (Whereas even a few years ago, saying "Mentally R____" was acceptable as long as you were saying it in that context.) If that makes you feel any better.

I read this as "scent"

(Anonymous) 2017-02-25 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
and was so confused. "Scent you're most proud of making." wut.
And kind of grossed but fascinated at what the replies could be.

I'm both proud and slightly embarrassed about putting a chicken head on Sam Winchester's crotch.
