Favorite Author: Philip Reeve

I love this man. I love his weird ass series.

Mortal Instruments - post-post-post-post-post apocalyptic super cynical dystopia where cities eat other cities ("municipal Darwinism"). Has the best worst Byronic love interest in Hester, the most scar-faced, black-hearted lady who ever.

Larklight - Victorian Steampunk Boys-Own-Adventure where old-timey ideas of alchemy and space are real. The American Revolution failed horribly, and England has colonies on other planets. There are also aliens who are hats who wear spiders.

Railhead - Trainspotting meets Starlight Express.

And because book five just appeared for preorder...

I am ridiculously invested in the Lockwood & Co. series by Jonathan Stroud. FIGHT ME.

do you have an author for Railhead? I'm assuming that it's Philip Reeve but ::tiny shrug:: I'd like to read a review of it (since I like Starlight Express)
