I know nothing about pilot's licenses, but I would assume they're like driving ones and you have to pass a test every few years? And then once you reach a certain age you have more tests? If not, it should be adopted.

In the U.S., you do not have to retake a test every few years to maintain your driver's license for your car, nor are you required to retake it at a certain age. I don't know how pilot licenses work, though.

To maintain your certification (you have to be certified on different types of aircraft in order to fly those types of planes, which includes training, logging hours, and tests) you have either have a flight review every two years or get a new certificate or rating in that time. And many certificates require medical exams every so often, depending on age and flight privileges.
