Semi-beards yay. Give me scruff or goatees or just a nice, smallish amount of hair on there. Full on bushy beards are a no, though.

Cumberbatch is one who needs a beard. He looks hot with one and not hot without one, IMHO.

Same. I ultimately prefer clean-shaven, but this works just fine, too.

There's some people who can pull off a full beard, though. I'm blanking on specific names right now, though.

Ha. I am the complete opposite! Smallish amount of hair or goatees gross me out. But a nice full scruff or full on beard (nicely taken care of) is a yes most of the time.

Hannibal is another one that looks way better with a beard!

I think I generally prefer them with beards. But shorter, groomed beards or some scruff. But I usually like actors either way. EXCEPT Jeffry Dean Morgan. That is one person who needs a beard.

God, yes. He is ungodly hot with a beard, but without...I keep wishing he had a beard.

Andrew Lincoln is another man whose face looks naked like a baby chick without facial hair.

Completely depends on the guy, for me. Like, I don't tend to be a big fan of full beards, but my boyfriend has one and I think he's super cute, so it really varies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In general, though, I will say a little facial scruff is super hot.

Some people really wear a beard well, so I'd say sometimes. I miss Charlie Weber's HTGAWM beard, for example.

Not into facial hair. Occasionally there are people I can find attractive despite scruff or a mustache or something, but pretty much never with a full beard.

Henry Ian Cusick with a beard is, like, knee-tremblingly, knuckle-bitingly hot to me, dear GOD. Henry Ian Cusick without a beard has a tiny mouth that freaks me out and is all I can see.

I'll take curly-haired, scruffy-bearded Hugh Dancy over close-cropped, clean-shaved Hugh Dancy any day.

Mads Mikkelsen's striking face, though, needs to be clean-shaven IMO. Facial hair makes him look too human, and his otherworldliness is what is so appealing to me.

Oscar Isaac is gorgeous and also needs to be beardless, because otherwise he can look too much like Shel Silverstein.


I will say, when I was a kid-to-20s, I loathed facial hair on men. Then somewhere in my 30s, some switch was flipped inside me and now I love them (on the right face). I don't know if this is due to getting older or to their resurgence in popularity. I also unabashedly love the hipster "1800s gentleman's groomed hair and beard" look so my taste is questionable.

I like all facial-scruff so long as it's groomed, I'm not a fan of completely untamed/messy beards.

it depends on the guy's face, but if it's a nice beard then it's almost always better than without. ...that's why I hate living in Japan currently. I need my nicely bearded men

Depends on the beard, depends on the face. I don't like beards that are particularly long, or beards that make a guy look like an American Civil War re-enactor, or beards that go down the neck, or that Amish-chinstrap-no-mustache look, but otherwise, whatever.

Hugh Laurie looks yummy with House!stubble, clean shaven or with a full beard but cheesy with a mustache.

I can't think of any man I've seen, celebrity or irl, whose face is not massively improved by a "sea captain" or shorter... though,the full wizard/Duck Dynasty is too much.

Nay 100%. Literally the only time I ever think a guy looks better with facial hair is if he has a really weak chin or practically no top lip at all and the beard is being used to disguising that.
