9 - A few things. One, maybe you're not looking in the right places? I ship wincest, but I've seen plenty of Dean/Bela around. Two, why does fandom scare you? You're seriously in the wrong places, then. Three, your secret is PRETTEH.

12 - Labyrinth is so overrated. Except for this one line:

13 - I don't get it either. Don't tell your family if you know they're going to freak out at you, right?
23 - Don't be absurd. When two characters are close, whether they be a guy and a girl or two guys or two girls, some people will ship them and some will see them as only friends. It just depends on your own perception of how love works versus friendship. Also, friendship can turn into love, just, you know, FYI.
26 - Take it as a compliment, and start commenting on their journals. They'll comment back when they realize they can actually talk to you.
27 - Do it. You completely should not stop having sex just because one guy didn't know what he was doing.

Anyway, to answer your question--not really. The basic gist (spoilers for S1 of Doctor Who) is:
Jack was a former Time Agent and traveling con-man, and he ended up traveling with the Doctor (and his companion Rose) through time and space. Eventually, they ended up on a satellite/space station in the very distant future during a battle. Jack got killed, Rose brought him back to life, and then the Doctor pretty much left him behind on the satellite.
Torchwood is after he's gotten back to Earth. There's only the vaguest mention of Doctor Who in the first season of Torchwood (Jack mentions a 'Doctor'), and there's a bit more in the second season, but if you didn't watch Doctor Who, you wouldn't be missing much.
Plus, there's always Wikipedia or something like that to answer questions if you're confused. :P
