How has your day been?

(Anonymous) 2017-03-02 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I just set my blanket on fire trying to make ramen on a gas stove. Thankfully, it was just a little on fire.

I woke up with a bad headache and a very scratchy throat. I don't have the headache anymore, but my throat still hurts and I really wish I could skip work tomorrow.

I have a fever and also a paper I need to finish and send off to someone so he can peer edit it before noon tomorrow, and I have to peer edit his by the same time. I feel guilty because the longer I take to finish it, the less time he has to do what he needs to do, but I feel miserable and I'm having trouble focusing for too long at a time.

I'd ask for an extension, but it's already late since I missed class on Monday. I assumed it was my chronic issues being more difficult than usual and I forced myself to only miss the one class this week but now it looks like it was more than that and it's only gotten worse. I probably could still ask but I hate doing that without some kind of documented proof that I really was sick (stupid obsessive fears about people thinking I'm lying; I'm sick of it).

Tummy bug for the last week, but now my stomach is understanding the concept of food.
I hope to be better in a day or two.

Not bad. Went for a walk this morning, the weather was nice. Then I went to Target and they had nearly everything on my list, plus I got my favorite wine. My husband gets home from a business trip this evening and hopefully won't be in a bad mood. Right now I'm drinking wine and watching basketball.

Exhausting. I'm helping to train a new employee. He probably means well, but he seems to need step-by-step directions to a ridiculous extent. Like, you can't just hand him the office charge card and say, "Go to Whatsits and pick up some widgets." You have to hand him the card and a map to Whatsits, explain to him where on the map we are now in relation to Whatsits, and tell him to pick up the widgets, charge them to the card you just handed him, and then bring them back to the office. And there's still about a 40% chance that he forgets to actually bring the card with him and calls you to ask what he should do and if there's some other way for him to pay for the widgets.

This... kinda sounds like someone who maybe isn't ready to hold down a job. It's not a crime to not know where Whatsits is, but in this day and age, an adult should be able to figure out how to look up directions and handle simple tasks like this.

My day started with me feeling as if this cold was going to kill me, by this point I'm starting to dread that it might not.

Still really sick from the antibiotics. Also have a migraine. And yet had to be out all day because of a doctor's appointment then Spanish class then a church service my parents insisted we all go to. Now I'm just going to shovel a few bites of food into me so I can take my antibiotics and other meds and then I'm going to crash.

Spent a lot of it recovering from the fifteen hour shift I worked the day before, then went to class. I forgot my second exam was next week, so I need to make progress on my homework before I crash.
