What stupid things make you nervous?

I always get nervous when someone texts me, "Hey." It has to have the period at the end. I always think a serious conversation is about to happen.

There's a bunch of random innocuous texts that make me freak out. Especially "So."

Oh totally. I read a ton of tone in text/chat speak/whatever, coming from growing up in chat rooms, AIM-type messaging, and general internet culture. When people type a certain way, I read a lot of tone into it that I understand may not be intentional, but adding periods to some greetings just comes across as really... stern, a lot of the time? And overuse of "..." after something. Like "hey..." Just sounds terrible.

Related but not stupid, I hate when my parents text me something like "hey, call as soon as you can, it's important" or something along those lines. I get convinced my cat or my grandma died or something, and then I call, and they just need me to tell them how to attach a photo to an e-mail or some shit, lmao

My mum has legit texted me news that someone in the family had died. It's not entirely a step up from the ominous mystery text.

Oh my god. My mom once texted me, "Are you at work right now?" to which I responded that I was, and she followed with, "Call me when you get home?"

I very literally started the conversation with, "Can we just clarify that no one's died because you gave me a heart attack."

Turns out my brother was divorcing his wife. (Thank God.)
