70. God, I hate to start wank, but... why? When over half of the time, we're plenty happy being able to enjoy things, why should we overanalyze everything? Should we spend our lives being unable to watch TV due to seeing "subliminal messages" that aren't even meant to be there? I mean sure, when it's blatant or it's a running theme, then okay! Well, I'm also not sure what that has to do with me, and I also don't know what it has to do with getting your panties in a bunch, but..

I'm operating under the assumption that most people don't want to be racist or sexist. I think that the best way to avoid being racist and sexist is to make yourself aware of the ways racism and sexism permeate things. It doesn't mean you're incapable of enjoying anything ever, it just makes you less likely to be a bigot and more likely to be an ally to people who are being watchdogs.

Of course, that assumption might be totally false. I mean, I'm sure most people don't want to be racist and sexist, but most people also don't want to have to implicate themselves of any wrongdoing or acknowledge any way in which they might benefit in the process.

All we know is that all air nomads WERE benders, presumably because they were surrounded by other benders who were able to teach them how to bend. If you're born into a normal family and grow up your whole life probably barely even knowing what an airbender WAS, much less how airbending is done, I could see not being aware of your own bending abilities.
