12 - Honestly most of my fandom experience is reading and commenting on fic. (Occasionally I write some.) And sometimes getting into discussions in communities, mostly the smaller ones, like Dexter. For the larger fandoms, I generally discuss with my flist. It's easier to be a contributing member in smaller comms or forums, whether it's for a smaller fandom or a comm that's for a specific type of fanwork (whether it be specific characters/pairings, meta, etc.)

14 - You don't have any respect for people due to one opinion they hold? Fandom makes no sense to me sometimes.

23 - She does have a large mouth. I think that women are generally able to work larger mouths better than men are though, so I think she's still quite attractive. (Not that it should matter whether or not I find her attractive.)

33 - David Caruso does not deserve Nigel. He talks too slowly and dramatically. Nigel deserves someone from a better series.

45 - Mmmmm, apology kink. "I-I'll try harder to improve next time! Except you probably don't want there to be a next time b-because I was so terrible this time and I'm sorry for even suggesting-"

47 - I think most of the HSM fans like it because it's so terribly cheesy.

70 - It takes me a while to clue into racism, sexism, etc. in my shows. I generally start seeing it more when I observe fandom.

Well... yes. If someone is of the opinion that homosexuals should not be allowed to exist, then I respect them less. If someone is of the opinion that one religion/race/flavour of ice cream is morally superior, then I respect them less.

Granted, which fictional characters you like is a really stupid thing to judge people by. OP is an idiot.

I more meant that fictional characters/fandom in general does not seem a good basis to decide respect on. (I would be irritated if someone consistently exhibited racism, sexism, homophobia, etc through their fandom opinions, but that's a different thing.)

For racism, I definitely agree. Same with homophobia, depending on the extent.
I went to a fairly conservative church when I was younger, where people held several opinions that I do not agree with (and even had issues with at the time). This included thoughts on gay marriage, gender roles, the occult in media, and the belief that non-Christians go to hell. However, I still respect several members of the church holding these beliefs.

(I lack respect for several Evangelical church leaders though - it's not cut and dry.)
