Maybe you're just tired of the other?

I find I can do modern AU's if he's still a veteran and missing an arm - or well, something along those lines, but not really the one where he's a barista or art student or whatever.

Good for you, OP. I like the modern AU fics, too, but my favorites are still the canon-based fics that have great characterization.
