"Justify your feelings to me or I'm not going to believe you actually have them"

I'm asking you to explain something that I don't understand. I am really not seeing how that's rude or unexpected, especially here, on a dead message board on the Internet where people mostly come to talk about their feelings about nerdy things.

First anon

It was kind of rude phrasing with that "precisely" in there. It comes off not as not understanding but as not believing.

But put it this way: Have you ever had a food that you really like, but then gotten a bad dish of it and gotten sick to the point that you don't want to eat that food anymore because it reminds you of how sick you got? It's kind of like that but from an emotional/memory perspective rather than a physical one.

I really don't understand how that applies to art, though

I guess I draw more of a line between originals and sequels/remakes than other people do? but I don't understand how you can watch Crystal Skull and be like "Not only do I dislike that movie, I also feel worse about the other Indiana Jones movies". They're just... separate.

Well then I guess you just don't understand it. Sorry.

SA
But your not understanding something doesn't make the people who do feel that way some sort of whiny weirdo.

nayrt

Pretty rich for you to come for them about rude phrasing when you started this thread with a rude piece of snark.

You don't have to understand, you just have to accept.
