14. Getting a job is harder than it sounds sometimes... and there are reasons for a person not having one besides being lazy, especially in this econonmy (well, if you are in the United States). I don't know who you are talking about, maybe they are lazy, but not everyone who has has hard luck in life and happens to be nerdy is hopeless and unworthy of friendship. You can be friends or not be friends with whom you want, but I'm glad that you actually seem to recognize that your attitude is pretty bitchy. I'd say come out and be honest about it - I know I'd rather have people be honest with me than pretend to be nicey-nice. If you really don't like someone, why try to impress them?

17. Oh, fandom and gender sterotyping... *sigh.* I wonder if it's because a lot of people in fandom are young (or just immature?) I'm like you - I like male characters. I like writing for them, I seem to identify with them -- my favorite character ever that I'm always roleplaying is definitely a guy (and I write/roleplay him straight, too, not gay or bi). I'm a straight female (mostly aesexual, but I qualify as straight)...

People on the internet (or maybe just people in fandom? or in general?) seem to think that if someone doesn't act "sterotypically male/female" all the time that they must be trapped in the other's body/must be gay/yadda, yadda, crap. What I say to that? I say that I'm going to strap on my combat boots, go down to the creek to fish, and that I'm a very PROUD owner of boobs that I'm not trading in. Also, that I'm going to keep writing and roleplaying my favorite character. You just be comfortable with who you are, dear. Screw what fandom tries to tell you.

71. I'm sort of the same way... with certain subject matter and with certain pairings in my fandom specificially. It's not iron-clad. I have friends who write really awesome work and I know they've written subjects and pairings I do not like - I just don't read those fics and I stick to reading their "acceptable to me subject matter" fics. I'm not so generous with strangers/new writers I encounter. It's a weird, weird squick and I know that it is not fair. I think my viceral reaction comes from past wank and pairings-wars in my fandom, though -- it's put an almost "me/us vs. them" attitude in me that won't go away, even though I know it's irrational and stupid. With me, it's not so much anger as it is simple avoidance because I feel like "Okay, this is a person who probably believes this as canon and, by default, thinks I'm stupid since I don't, so I'm just not going to bother with any of their works."

73. Was this actually in church? I haven't been to church in a long time, but I remember once, around Christmas, going to church and trying to keep myself from sniggering whenever we all sang songs about angels because I'd just re-watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and I couldn't stop thinking about the "angels" in NGE -- if you've seen that series, you know just how *wrong* that is.
