Buying meat and freezing it is like the single biggest money-saving tip I give people because it's SO much cheaper to buy in bulk than it is to buy smaller portions. My local grocery store sells bulk packs of chicken thighs and legs that work out to something like .50 a pound, so I just buy a pack and freeze what I'm not going to use right away and then I have enough meat to last me for a couple of weeks and it only ended up costing me something like $4 or $5.

Yep, this is excellent advice. It's very worthwhile to pay attention to prices at your local grocery store AND the weekly ads to keep track of sales, too. For me, the cheapest meat tends to be chicken leg quarters, followed by drumsticks and thighs. If you're extra thrifty, you can also make stock out of the bones.
