You have no idea if OP was hoping they would like the film or not. And even so, why does it matter even if they did hate!watch it? Are they exempt from expressing a negative opinion about it even so? That is stupid as fuck.

You keep acting like people are trying to strip OP of their right to an opinion.

Nobody is doing this. Nobody.

Just because someone does not care for your opinion does not mean you do not have a right to express it. And just because you express your opinion does not mean that no one else has a right to criticize it.

Obviously, we don't know FOR SURE if OP went in intending to hatewatch or not. The problem is not that they're dissatisfied with the movie. Not everybody liked it. But I don't care for the implication that anyone who enjoyed the film must be "in on a joke," as if there were no other way to enjoy the movie, or that anyone who enjoyed it is wrong. And I especially do not care for the fact that OP tried to spin that around and make themselves out to be the wronged one somehow. Nobody was wronged. OP hated the movie while other people loved it. That's it. There's no joke. No angle. No conspiracy. No smoke and mirrors. No gimmicks, no tricks. There were people who genuinely enjoyed the movie. And if OP finds themselves incapable of simply saying "I didn't like it all that much" or "I guess I didn't enjoy it as much as others" to their friends, well then, that's not really anybody else's problem.
