I'm not a Beyonce fan (actually, hate her music), and I think there is such thing as TACKY pregnancy photos, but artistic ones are very nice.

Of course she's rich and famous so the pictures look very glamorous and polished. But I can't help but think of the same people praising Beyonce would mock similar pregnancy family pics if it were unattractive people and with unprofessional looking pictures.

I think it partly has to do with being a celebrity. You get told you need to be attractive, look a certain way. That way doesn't usually include pregnant. I think she's trying to break some barriers.

No idea what is wrong with this photo as people above me just go with 'no pregnancy photos' vs. 'yay, pregnancy photos!'. Could be even one of those 'creative' and nerdy baby announcements if they employed a surrogate (never heard that rumour but they could have and still would not matter to me). Unless, there is something I am missing but otherwise - people will make cliche photos always and forever.

AGREED. And, like, I don't even object to pregnancy shoots as a concept? It's just... who the fuck made the creative decisions for this one? Everything about it is hideous and tacky and the second-hand embarassment makes my skin crawl. I dearly hope she made nicer pictures for personal use than this high-concept, teal and puke colored pregnancy-as-a-fashion-accessory monstrocity.

Eh, for a pregnancy photoshoot, they're not that bad. Those are almost always kind of corny. I've seen better ones, but they also get so much worse. The fan gushing is a result of it being Beyonce, but so is the vitriol. Your dumb cousin's pregnancy photoshoot wasn't any classier, but people didn't crawl out of the woodwork to leave hate on her Facebook page.
