Agreed. There are far too few opera-loving heroes.

I get that a lot of heroes are supposed to be Schmoe Everyman standins who love country or rock'n'roll, but c'mon. Not everyone with above average IQ or who likes classical music has to be evil.

'evil genius' as a trope is very similar to what the secret op described, and villains like that definitely outnumber uncommonly intelligent good guys, especially if you like some action in your fiction.

I guess my point is that I don't think that the music characters listen to is actually linked to their intelligence, except in a hacky, super-tropey way. Linking characters listening to country/rock with them not having above average IQ is extremely fucking dumb.
