Trying to update the storyline about the former PM while keeping it light seems pretty difficult given the last 15 years of history. And then after that, and setting aside Thompson and Rickman as you said, you have like... the porn actors, the little kid, and then what? I feel like those are all the characters from Love Actually that I really liked.

I felt this way about the I Am Not a Serial Killer series when the MC started wanting the bad guys to murder innocent people so he could find clues at the scene to help him find and kill them. I knew he was headed somewhere really, really ugly, and I didn't want to see what would happen when he got there.
