Yes! Or just a random "the soldier walked across the room" or "the man stood up" and then I'm like, what soldier? Where did a soldier come from? And it seriously takes me a minute to realize their talking about the same guy, because the phrasing is so clunky and confusing.

I like when the characters don't look radically different from each other and then you have "the shorter blond looked at the taller blond in surprise".
