Oh god, there's a writer in my fandom who fits this description exactly, and it makes me sad. Especially because I like their longer fics best. They're a good writer with a knack for taking weird ideas and making them really engaging and cool, especially when they write longer fics...but the longer the fic the less likely it is to ever get finished. The only fics they ever seem to finish are the really short ones. :(

For the most part I don't begrudge the author. But I do wish their muse weren't so fickle.
