Because I hate it when people will become interested in something just because there's gay sex in it. It kind of cheapens things for the rest of us who actually like something because of what it is. I see this all the time when there is something slashy in media. You suddenly get people interested in it because of the homoeroticism. I love some yaoi, slash, whatever as much as anyone, but it's hardly a defining point in whether or not I'll like something and people who do base their enjoyment factor on whether there's any man snogging in it do tend to worry me. I like slash because I enjoy relationships between men, but likewise I enjoy femmeslash and het, the fact that a series might involve some form of homoeroticism isn't going to define something for me. I hate it when people are all, 'Oh, I'd watch it if it were two men.' or 'Yeah, I'm watching it for the gay factor.' or whatever.

It would be interesting plot-wise, though. Bond's practically the epitome of the straight guy icon--putting him in a situation where he'd either willingly engage in homosexual activity or have sex with a man in order to do what needed to be done to complete his mission would involve a lot of interesting character development, given that we haven't seen much of that side of his persona before. I'd really enjoy seeing how it was handled.

...and it would be hot, yes, but the hot factor's the reason the Bond girl sex is there in the first place.

I wouldn't care if there was some gay sex, in fact I think it would be interesting ... however, the OP made it clear that they weren't interested in the series because the Bond girls were girls and not men. Personally, I have a problem with that because they're basing everything on whether or not there's 'boy smexing' and that's beyond stupid.

Admittedly I would enjoy some gratuitous Bond-on-man action purely for the sake of my sexual drive, but basing it all on that fact does seem rather strange.

Yeah, I would find it pretty damn hot myself, but again basing ones interest in the series solely on that worries me to go back to your initial question.

*shrug* I'll cop to liking things better if they have a little gay in them, but since so very few things these days contain both the set of "gay" and the set of "good", I take what I can get when it comes along.
