(Anonymous) 2008-05-16 01:43 am (UTC)(link)I guess all I'm trying to say is that while it's great you play for your fun and all and who you like playing with, it's kind of strange you weren't helping them improve their characterization at all, and it's possibly the reason why a lot of players who put in effort to do their characters as recognizably as they can are a bit wtf over gef's acceptance. You know what I mean? Especially in a popular rp like gyakusai. It's like watching a TV show and then finding out the parody character of a canon character is considered canon.

But in all honesty, I don't understand where this sudden anti-Klav!Gef sentiment is coming from. I don't know how other people play Klavier; I don't follow other RPs (I just don't have time! ^^;;). I haven't even read much fanfiction with him. But I've played GS4 in Japanese and English a few times now, and I really do enjoy Gef's Klav. You can take that as you want, because of course he's also a good friend of mine, and my opinion is biased in his favor. But my co-admin and I at GSRP have always offered constructive criticism to our players when we think it's needed. We're not letting things slide for the sake of friendship, if that's what you think is going on.
At the beginning of the RP, we said Klavier had only been in the states a few weeks, and so his English was horrible. That was before AJ came out in America; when it did, and indicated that Klavier's English was always good, Gef adjusted. He's made a lot of small adjustments since the game came out that someone not following the RP very closely might have overlooked. He and I have worked together in tons of scenes, trying to craft an interesting relationship between the two brothers (all yaoi innuendo aside) and I enjoy his easy, playful, diva-teenager Klavier. Klavier is just a teenager in GSRP and he does act younger than he does in the game.
No interpretation can please everyone. I'm sure there are people who don't appreciate me taking liberties with Kristoph's backstory. But as a group, we enjoy Gef's Klavier, and unless someone has more specific constructive criticism to offer I don't see what it is you're asking us to change.

Although I know I can't please everybody, I do wish to hear all opinions and suggestions that are presented to me in order to improve.
