What ate your favorite Beauty and the Beast fandom AUs and/or favorite adaptations of Beauty and the Beast? Or just stories that seem like they fit the Beauty and the Beast mold?

What are your favorite adaptations of Beauty and the Beast. Not what ate them. ...although I can see fic for some versions where the Beast mistakes the meaning of 'voracious reader' and eats a book to impress Belle.

I'd love to see that scene now. Belle says she loves books and he's trying to endear himself to her by saying he does too and immediately starts tearing huge bites out of the nearest book while Belle looks on in horror at what he's doing to the poor book.

I remember liking The Fire Rose by Mercedes Lackey

Like most people probably do, I've got a Beauty and the Beast AU for one of my fandoms on the back burner to be written..... eventually.

I came across a Harry/Draco fic where Draco had been cursed into the form of this horrible spider monster thing and Harry was trying to break the curse. I would have a much harder time getting past that appearance than the Beast's in the Disney version.

There's a fic on AO3 set after the film about Belle and the prince coming to grips with the fact that she kind of wanted to fuck the beast. It's great.

I really enjoyed the Johnlock fic Freedom Is Being Alone by Ishmael. It's not overly long, and it has some possible WoW elements (which actually work surprisingly well in the mix). John’s troop is attacked by wargs and discovered by a beast who lives in a mansion deep in the woods. The beast has magic to heal John’s men, but in exchange John must stay with him...
