Agreed that the movie still looks good, but I have to disagree that it aged well. The technology is so antiquated that it's hard to connect to a modern setting anymore. Hardly anyone uses landlines anymore, and phone booths are a novelty, among other anachronisms.

The antiquatedness works for me personally, because you just know people are still running dirty, huge tech rigs like that in places. Maybe not for anything strenuous.

The technology being antiquated is really just not a sticking point for me at all.

I still love that moment where Neo is in his cubicle and gets the package with the phone in it. I remember how cool that phone looked at the time, and for me that feeling survives into the present. Sure, a part of me is aware that it's big and impractical by today's standards, but mostly I think, That is a well-designed prop, and the moment where Neo slides it out of the envelope and it opens in his hand is still a great story beat.
