There's a line between victim-blaming and expecting people to take personal responsibility that has gotten really blurred in recent years.

Yes, we should all live in a world where rape, kidnappings, murder, robberies, etc. don't happen. People should not rape, kidnap, murder, steal. But we don't live in that world, and it's stupid not to take steps to protect yourself if you can.
