That would be awful if she stopped listening to him just because of the way he looks. Reminds me of a forum I was on years ago and people got into an argument about Adele's weight. It has nothing to do with their talent, who cares what they look like so long as they make music people like?

This is true, but if she really can't get past his weight, it's her loss and shouldn't reflect on the OP.

AYRT Didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with OP if her friend were to stop being a John Moreland fan. I meant it as a general opinion on people judging musicians on their looks.

I have literally never cared what a singer looks like unless they make a point to market their appearance as part of the appeal.

If that's what makes her stop listening, I feel like the music couldn't have meant that much to her after all.
I rarely even know what singers look like unless they are popular enough to see them on TV, the internet or in magazines. (Which meant going to a Radical Face concert was funny because while I know you absolutely can't draw any conclusions about a person's looks based on their voice, he did look a bit different than I would have thought. And it was funny because he actually is very aware of that and made a joke about it right at the start.)

Same here. It's always a bit funny to eventually find out what the singers actually look like. Nick Cave has probably been the only one who has looked exactly like I expected.

Well, it'd be her loss then. But maybe it'd be good for her to find out what he looks like, and perhaps it might shake her worldview about how looks aren't everything?
