The first movie was one of my faves as a kid, but somehow I never saw any of the sequels. Maybe I should! Thanks, OP.

The second movie is pretty good, I think it's based on the second part of the book. It's worth watching. However, do not under any circumstances watch the third. It is dire.

I suppose she was one of the better parts of the movie. The re-release of the book that happened due to that movie allowed me to buy a copy. I don't know if I still have it buried somewhere though.
