Wow, that really is an odd combo of hosts. And yeah, do we really need Sandi hosting another show? I neither like nor dislike her...I just find her kind of meh. And Noel brings his own baggage of bizarreness with him which doesn't really go with the Bake-Off aesthetic. But oh well, time will tell. Maybe they can have different hosts each season or something.

This is the first I've heard of this, and I adore Sandi, but I kind of agree. Weird choice.

I'm with you on Noel. He'd be okay on Jo Brand's Bake Off Extra show, but on the main bake off itself? For the main show you want someone a bit ditzy but also someone who can manage cozy and reassuring. Noel is not cozy or reassuring. I'd watch him on the Great Pottery Challenge (or whatever it was called) maybe. That show needs a little more edge just to make it work.

It's an underrated part of his toolbox already

They're both really good at panel hosts, I think, so I can see it working. Especially Noel - I think he'll be really good at it, and he makes a lot of sense. I would agree that my main concern would be their chemistry.

And I do think that Jon Richardson would have been good at it as well, but I'm not convinced he would have been better than either of them. And I also would have been slightly perturbed if they'd gone to an all-male hosting team.

I have mixed feelings about this, because while I feel like Sandi is a reasonably good fit for the Bake Off's aesthetic, she's already doing QI... which she's even better suited for, IMO. Maybe it's silly to say they should've gone with someone different because she's already so high profile, but I think the format works better with a partnership of comedians who work well together, but aren't super famous.

Jon and Russell would (probably) be amazing! But I do agree with the poster above, I wouldn't be thrilled to go with an all male hosting team. The more I think about Sandi & Noel, the more I kind of like it. We'll see, I guess.

So this is too late to be noticed by anyone but yesterday I found out that Sandi is kinda terfy? Like I can't find anything specific but a comment she made on qi got me googling and i found her political party and their terf connections and now i'm sad.
