Re: Just saw Beauty and the Beast

I liked it, but it didn't grab the part of my hindbrain that catapults me into fandom obsession, even though, or maybe because, I'm a Beauty and the Beast fan to the point where the Disney animated film isn't the be-all, end-all. The remake wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular either. Also Lefou wasn't as awful a stereotype as I feared, but it would've been nice to have a 'good' gay character instead. And I wish the Beast would've apologized to his servants for letting Belle go--it was totally the right thing to do but he could've acknowledged he was condemning them to become furniture and knickknacks.
