For me, Barber's style was kind of a general low-level annoyance until about Combiner Wars, which was when I decided I was done with his stuff. Roberts, on the other hand, I actually really liked until suddenly a switch flipped and I couldn't stand anything he produced. Still not entirely sure why.

If you can pinpoint what bothers you about it, I'd genuinely be interested to hear your thoughts. I admit, his material can reach Whimsical Doctor Who levels, which can irk me, but not enough to be sincerely bothered. I guess I just love his general competence at writing a story and that he can actually tie arcs together...unlike...Barber...
