The inclusion of Jessica Jones on this list is pretty wild, but I guess you can't chose what makes you uncomfortable.
The sensation you're describing actually sounds fascinating to me. Have you ever seen Frances Ha? I had a really strong reaction to that movie, and I think for similar reasons.

I actually did a secret about Jessica Jones a while back. One of the scenes that really got to me was Jessica squashing a roach in her apartment. It wasn't stylized or over-the-top, just a realistic depiction of squalor.

I've been thinking more about this, and I realized that I mostly get this from live action. The only animated work that really got to me like this was Welcome to the NHK. I think Koi Kaze would have affected me like this if it had been live action, though.

And no, I haven't seen Frances Ha.
