Well, the point of telling them would be to further encourage talking to a psychiatrist or some other mental health professional, not just to inform them of my armchair diagnosis. Because right now they're sort of semi aware that they're not neurotypical, but they don't really know what their issue might be. There's a slim chance a diagnosis and treatment might be helpful if they could really engage with it, because they're bitter, lonely and have driven away most of their friends and family with their behavior over the years.
