(Anonymous) 2017-03-31 02:07 am (UTC)(link)The show Girls is an example of this for me. It's like real life but shittier. (I haven't seen past S1 though so IDK about later seasons.)
The British version of The Office was also like this for me. Actually, I've always thought it was interesting how the British version compares to the US version. The Office (US) is a satire of real life, but with an element of that fictiony kind of "artifice" you speak of in there too. Whereas The Office (UK) is a satire of real life without any of that fictiony artifice. And IMO it's so much more depressing and mundane than the US version.
