Honestly, I wouldn't. Not for any special snowflake reasons like you might hurt this person's fee-fees or because armchair diagnosing is baaaad, but because it probably won't change anything. The person you describe sounds highly resistant to change. Sure, they're miserable and alone, but depending on how old they are, ask yourself this... How much time have they had to change their ways? Years, right? And they haven't done it. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Some people would rather drown in misery and lose every last friend they have than admit they're the reason why people don't stick around. They can no more acknowledge this to themselves than pigs could fly. The only way they can live with themselves is to blame everyone else for everything, including failure to stick around and be an emotional punching bag.

So yeah, I guess it would be kinder. On you. You can't save this person because they don't want to be saved. If you try, they'll just fight you and put all the blame on you for being a jerk. That's what dealing with a narcissist is like. They don't want help, they want victims. Save yourself instead.
